On my eternal strive for fascinating software, I found something new today on MacUser.de. They discussed the popularity of image-databases and there was a link to something very similar to Aperture or Lightroom, but the italian way 
This open source application is called BlueMarine, and though they have a “release candidate”, they still recommend not to download and use their program, so I didn´t. But it might be worth to visit that page later this year to see how they succeed…
